Physical therapy is the treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction through the use of physical and mechanical interventions. Treatment may include hands on techniques, the instruction in an individualized exercise program, patient education, or pain-relieving modalities. Physical therapists assist patients to regain the movement and functional abilities needed for the activities of daily living.
